One of my least favorite things about having children is trying to keep up with the ways in which my body changes, especially come the summer time. If you’ve had kids, you know exactly what I’m talking about. I have three different sizes of bathing suits in my possession; the ‘before baby’ size, the ‘during pregnancy’ size, and the ‘post baby’ size. It got me thinking… I can’t be the only girl having these problems, scouring the stores to find the best suit for myself season after season. I’ve tried them all and put together a quick list of the best suits to look for no matter what your needs may be.
If you’re active
By now you’ve probably heard of Triangl Bikinis. They are one of my favorite brands based on one thing alone; the fabric they use. Most, if not all of their suits are made with neoprene, which is the same fabric they use to make wetsuits, and because of this these suits stay in place. I’m always chasing my daughters around and I can’t be stopping every few seconds to pull around my bathing suit and make sure it’s in the right place so these are literally perfect for me. I also love the racerback trend that’s big this summer. These both fall into my post-baby lifestyle.
If you’re well endowed
If you have more to work with up top then you need a suit with much more support or coverage. You can opt for a regular bathing suit top with underwire that will be sure to stay in place, or an almost sports bra-like top that will offer a ton of support.
If you have ittie-bitties
A smaller chest means you can pretty much take advantage of just about every bathing suit trend out there. Triangle shaped tops and strapless work flawlessly for smaller chests. If you want to create the illusion of a larger chest you can opt for a suit with a bold print or embellishments.
If you’re a mom
And I don’t mean “mom” in the sense that all of the sudden you need a “sensible” suit, no no no. As I have two daughters, both under the age of three, I have… wait for it… stretch marks! While there is a ‘love yourself and your body’ trend sweeping the nation recently, I’m not quite there yet. Don’t get me wrong, I am all about wearing a bikini, but some occasions call for hiding that annoying section of skin that won’t tighten covered in tiger stripes. So if you’re like me, grab a high waisted bikini or a sexy one piece- yes, they exist! Lucky for us, both suits seem to be very on trend this season so you can find a flattering version just about anywhere bathing suits are sold.
If you just wanna get some sun and look FABULOUS doing it
Some bathing suits are literally stunning but are not made for catching an even tan. If you’re heading to a sunset pool party or just don’t care what you’re tan is going to look like, have some fun with your suits! Look for a sexy one piece with daring cutouts, or a tiny bikini with strappy details.
There is literally a bikini for every body type, every lifestyle, every girl! Don’t be afraid to rock whatcha got this summer in one of the many bathing suits available to you!
