The Holidays roll around so quick every year, don’t they? After every Christmas my husband and I say we’re going to start Christmas shopping in like October of the following year. October comes and goes… November comes and goes… and then it’s a week or two before Christmas and we are scrambling! I’ve decided to put together a gift guide for the procrastinators like myself and hope it helps!
For the chef in your life
There are so many creative ways to honor the cooking addict in your life these days, thanks to sites like Etsy and Shutterfly. My mother-in-law is, in my opinion, an expert baker. The woman could open up her own pastry shop in the heart of New York City and it would thrive. Every year for weeks leading up to Christmas Eve you can find her tucked away in the kitchen with scraps of recipes everywhere baking her little heart out. Every year my husband and I talk about preserving her recipes in someway. If you have someone like this in your family, considering making them a custom recipe book on a site like Shutterfly.com. You will have to sneak in and grab the recipes little by little so they don’t notice any are missing and get suspicious, but when they finally unwrap their gift they will be delighted!
For the accessory obsessed
Have you heard of RocksBox yet? If not, do yourself a favor and indulge in their website. It’s basically a jewelry-renting service. The Birchbox for jewelry lovers, but you can send back the pieces you didn’t love, or buy the ones you did at a serious discount. You just take a quick style quiz so their stylists get a feel for what you like and that’s it! Just sit back and wait for your baubles to arrive every month. Treat your favorite jewelry addicts this year! (*Little tip, a gift like this is also PERFECT for the fashion blogger in your life, if you know one!)
For the beauty obsessed
You saw RocksBox, now get acquainted with BirchBox, if you haven’t already! I signed up for Birchbox about a year ago and it’s little a little mini-Christmas every month. For a very low monthly fee, (seriously, it’s less than a gym membership) Birchbx will send you an assortment of sample sized beauty products. Same deal as RocksBox, you take a quick beauty and style quiz so they can send you products that perfectly cater to your skin, hair, and beauty taste or needs! I use the things I like, buy the regular size of the things I love, and collect the things I won’t use for a beautiful display in our guest bathroom!
The chic Geek
I would absolutely love a pair of Frends headphones in general, but for the holidays they have collaborated with Baublebar to offer their signature headphones with an interchangeable blinged out ear piece, PLUS a pair of seriously gorgeous earrings. These rose gold headphones are a must for the music lover in your life.
The person who hates the cold.
I mean, that’s everyone, really… so this gift is pretty much a go-to for anyone! Invest in a blanket scarf this holiday season. The tartan print is huge and these oversized scarves will keep you seriously toasty this winter! They are fashionable and practical, sure to be a hit with any female on your list!
For the real life paparazzi
I am addicted to taking pictures. There are certain people in my group of friends who actually cringe when I take out a phone or camera because they are positive their shenanigans are going to end up all over social media, and they’re not wrong. So, if there’s someone on your Christmas list like me and takes a million pictures a night, an instant camera is per-fect for them! Fuji makes the cutest (and most affordable!) instant camera! (This is also a great gift for the bride-to-be on your list! They make great additions to tables at weddings for the guests to pass around so the bride and groom get memories from ALL over!)
The wine and cheese enthusiast
While I would love to say just buy them a custom case of wine, or a box of wine with custom wine labels, that’s too easy. I would never turn that down, but it’s easy. Instead! Opt for a custom cheese board engraved with initials, a special date, name, or phrase. Make it personal!
For the Homebody
My in-laws have this tradition of giving their kids pajamas every Christmas Eve. It’s one of those traditions I have really found myself looking forward to. As cheesy as it may be, I love wearing matching pj’s with my two sisters-in-law and daughters (and last year my husband and cat, it was glorious). Take matching pajamas one step further and gift an entire “night before Christmas” box! Fill it with all the sleepover essentials: pajamas, slippers, popcorn, candy, a DVD of their favorite Christmas movie… the possibilities are endless!
For the Sentimental Sweetie
One of my favorite gifts to give the moms in my life is personalized jewelry. Include their children’s birthstones, names, and/or birth dates. There are so many places to get something like this, but I personally love browsing MaxAndChloe.com – so many amazingly beautiful options, and they’re having a sale on all personalized jewelry for 15% off!
The Brownie Points
One of my favorite and go-to gifts is from CanvasOnDemand. After my husband and I got our wedding photos back there was one in particular that was screaming to be put on a giant canvas. I was introduced to this site which allows you to upload a picture to any size canvas and choose a custom frame. The prices are reasonable and they’re always offering great deals. This is a great gift to someone who was recently married, welcomed a child, or has vintage wedding photos they want to preserve. My husband and I took one of my grandparents’ old wedding photos and had it blown up on a canvas for Christmas and seeing the look on their faces when they unwrapped their gift was priceless.
I hope I covered all the gift ideas for the ladies in your life! Check back next week for some fabulous gift ideas for the men in your life! Happy holidays!
