Valentine’s Day is just days away, but it’s never too soon or too late to start planning the perfect outfit. The one thing I love about Valentine’s Day is that it’s no longer just for couples! It seems like everyone has something to do on this night, whether it is with a significant other, or with your best friends. There is no shame in being single, so to me, Valentine’s Day is just another excuse to get dressed up! We’re covering a few trends to try out next week.
If you’re into the whole Valentine’s Day theme, literally.
During #StyleChat this week the topic of what to wear for a Valentine’s Day date night was a big deal. Opinions ran from one end of the spectrum to the other on this one. While dressing in head-to-toe red and hearts isn’t for everyone, (i.e: Jessica Biel’s character in Valentine’s Day) it can be super cute and even more chic when done right! Don’t be afraid to play with lots of shades of pinks and reds this year. Or dare to be different, but still romantic, and test out the Pantone color of the year, Radiant Orchid. Think a little red (or pink, or radiant orchid) dress, and keep the rest of your accessories understated. I love these quartz earrings from Roman Luxe. They’re the lightest shade of pink, which oozes romance to me!
If you want to play with the theme, but not overdo it.
There are literally SO many ways to add reds and pinks into your wardrobe without overdoing it. Play with a romantic print in dark shades. Think dark florals, maybe skinny jeans or a blazer. Try a pair of red skinnies with a black top and black heels which can look chic and romantic at the same time.
If you prefer to be dark, like your soul.
Just kidding of course! Maybe Valentine’s Day colors are not for you, that is a-ok with us! There is nothing I love more than a little black dress, so start there. Add a little bit of V-day color to your palate with your accessories or your makeup. Throw on a beautiful statement necklace, carry an oversized red clutch, like this one from Linea Pelle, and make your pout stand out with a stunning red lipstick (read up on our favorites here). You don’t have to wear head-to-toe red, but you don’t have to wear head-to-toe black either!
No matter what happens to be on your agenda this romantic holiday, have a blast! Be sure to tweet me pictures of your looks at @The_RachelRoss!
